I feeling like I'm letting everyone, including myself down but I'm really behind on reading this wonderful book. I'm having a hard time getting through the details. I will continue but am not promising to finish it.
Alice's sentiment is shared by at least half our readers... the book is full of sideshows and disconnected tales that don't seem to belong to the main narrative thread.
One of the club "rules" I mentioned to Alice, is you don't HAVE to finish the book! Just come to the meeting with an explanation of what you didn't like, which is after all just as interesting as what folks did like. We'll try to avoid books for future reads that have properties folks don't like.
Also, none of us will live long enough to read books we can't stand :-)
